qrsevlo alcove is a new service from qrsevlo, Inc. Unlike most of our services, our "alcove" service is targeted for Robinson, Illinois, Crawford County. We do intend to expand this service beyond the Robinson, Illinois area -- it's one of those services that requires a physical presence of sorts.

What is alcove?

Alcove is a group of individuals and businesses that choose to come together to advance themselves, their businesses, and society as a whole.

In escence, alcove is an "Enhanced Chamber of Commerce". While a Chamber of Commerce primary focus is on businesses, alcove's main focus is on society. There's overlap. However, alcove does not give loans, doesn't own property for lease/rent, etc. Although we do maintain a business directory for the community as well as hold events and such.

Ok, so what's that mean?

Below are some of alcove's features:

  • No membership dues! It's free to be a member, although we do accept dues from people wishing to help with our costs.
  • Pay or not, everyone's treated the same and has the same rights!*
  • Anyone's welcome to join: business, group, or individual
  • Monthly meetings help at any of the business member's locations. That way each business can feature a new product or service they have. And of course their location meant to be provided free of charge, keeping the "no dues" possible.
  • Listing online in our business directory, under your business type, listed alphabetically
  • Anyone contacting us about businesses in the area will receive the entire list of members -- alphabetically.
  • Monthly newsletters sent to all members either by e-mail (preferred) or by regular mail that will contain articles created by the members of the alcove. Meant to highlight businesses, upcoming events, etc. We'll also provide an up-to-date business directory and contact info in every issue!
  • Members spread the word so everyone can know about it; just by telling friends, or putting up a small sign at their workplace.
  • Quarterly get-togethers and celebrations for the community during the year -- either completely free, at a small admission, or free - but you have to pay for some things. Things like job fairs, business meet-and-greets, summer celebrations (parties at the park), even fundraisers to build something for the community.
  • Alcove meant to operate at a "break even" cost. Meaning that all funds generated will go towards operating costs, with leftovers going back to the community.
  • Provide help to those that need it -- if someone needs a new roof and can't afford it, members of the alcove should band together to help raise the funds for them; same for any medical procedures, ramps, or even a business that's on the verge of going under. Alcove members should vow to help out the community whenever possible.

Basically, alcove is a service meant to get the community and businesses together to provide fun activities, learning experiences, and just a general awareness of what's going on and what's available -- all while making sure that everyone in the community has what they need to survive.
Helping out can be as simple as helping someone get their lawn mowed, to giving a few dollars to help renovate a building. A few dollars given by a thousand people - is thousands. It doesn't take much to help out when you have large numbers.

* - there may be some things that paying might be needed for to attend, such as meals, or paper mailing of newsletters - but there's no special treatment of paying members
